F1 2022 in the Column: It takes a revolution, no damn Rolex! (with video)
Who would have thought that ten years ago: the deadly formula 1, royal class of motorsport, fascinates innumerable established motorsport fans worldwide, but also lots of racing newcomers are skilfully to the dangerous by clever marketing and the freshly awakened fascination of the owner Liberty Media Highspeed sports. This is located on one of the most exciting seasonal fins ever (over 100 million have followed the great final impact exchange between Sir Lewis Hamilton and Max stood), the release of the fourth season to the Netflix sports documentation "Drive to Survive" and the upcoming season start In Bahrain.

If one then consider that in recent years, it was typical of the F1 series of Codemasters to publish between March and beginning of May the first official information for the upcoming racing game, then the timing could hardly be better chosen to get to the Hot Serious F1 To look 2022! In this column, PCG editor Maci Naeem Cheema reveals why the supposed leaks of the EA insider Tom Henderson could predict a gloomy image for the great racing series.

Everything will be different this time!
As already mentioned, there are currently hard-wearing information, but a lot of rumors - they give me fierce worries. According to EA insider Tom Henderson, inter alia, fans are finally allowed to set full-fledged Crossplay, but also on so-called supercars and lots of luxury - sounds for me after error potential. My opinion: "Dear Codemasters team, 2022 does it need a real revolution, no damned Rolex?!"
Some may now be wondering why F1 2022 makes such a serious difference compared to the many great racing parts of the past. This has a very simple reason: The royal class of motorsport launches this season with one of the largest technology and rule changes for almost ten years - 2014 there was a complex engine revolution that moved from V8 motors to a system with V6 turbo.

What that means among other things: Currently, even the F1 teams are still in a dark in the dark when it comes to the behavior of the raceways on the track - despite several test days! How exactly are the powerful new cars in two fighting behavior? A great goal of the new rules is that it should be easier to drive after - it works too?! Or do you currently oversee some problems that will show yourself during the course of the season?
Even with many data and support of the official F1 teams, this is a pretty difficult task for Codemasters. In the end, of course you can always improve, but it would be quite desirable to build a stable base with F1 2022, which can then be expanded in the following years with exciting features and new approaches - but not in the midst of such a revolution?!
Stretch construction sites, engine standstill and indestructible riders
In addition, there is still a tens of construction sites for the team: If you get a real generational change with F1 2022, so use the Power of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 better? And does not that scream for a new engine that enhances driving physics, auto behavior and damage model? Or remains another year at the in-house ego engine? Sponsors and manufacturers complain: The debate about damage models in racing games is not new, but the many changes could actually be a great opportunity for Codemasters. Whether the actual is used can be doubted. Source: PC Games The minimalist damage model remains a controversial topic. The biggest problem presumably embody the many sponsors and manufacturers who absolutely do not feel like their logo mourned on the rear wing of a car on the roadside. I can understand that quite, but better than up to date?!

Likewise, the routes remain a frequently criticized topic. The Paul Ricard Circuit, so the big price of France, shows very realistic and impressive thanks to laser scanning. Older stretches such as Spa or Monza, on the other hand, urgently needed an intense revision. But not only a lot of money costs that, but also pretty much development time. Through the many points on the agenda, which Codemasters can only be severely withdraw, but it remains in short supply this year. If the then flows into unnecessary luxury objects, that's more than annoying.
with glamor into the dilemma?
The possibility to buy luxurious supercars (luxurious super-sports clothes) with earned money within our driver's career is of course attractive. The same rumors claim that you can collect supercars in the course of the career and even compete against friends and strangers online on the 23 routes of the game - that's, I think, basically a cool thing. But all this has to run on a certain level with decent gameplay. A Supercar feels differently than a 1,000 hp formula 1 cart.
But if I read that CodeMasters after the takeover through the unpopular gaming sharks Electronic Arts Various Rolex watches and Ray-Ban glasses - or what do I know what luxury goods! - I want to install the game, then I can only shake my head. It would not be surprised if you should then pay the unnecessary stuff with real money at the end - EA greetings already with your first F1 collaboration! Although the F1 series of Codemasters is outstanding in many ways, the presentation away from the asphalt has always left a lot. In which situations should such luxury goods have to get their stage at all?! Basically, I understand what Codemasters here (possibly) plans: The new luxury mode "F1 Life" I would like to donate more F1 feeling from Henderson. Almost every F1 fan wishes the official video game, but not a peculiar way?!
To date, each race victory remains exactly the same, whether based on the animations or announcements of our racing engineer. If I fetch the 104th victory as Lewis Hamilton, then that's exactly as much value as if I win with a Ferrari driver for the first time in Monza - an act that makes a scuderia driver in reality flash fast to legend. Also, as a freshly established Formula 1 rookie (newbie) is surprisingly on the podium, despite a bad car, which is not intended for such placements, is reflected after the finish line is disregarding. Such "Underdog" stories are actually exactly what makes Formula 1 so fascinating. The 10,000 euros heavy Rolex on the arm of stages, Hamilton or Daniel Ricciardo but certainly not.
Not all stoof: Comes finally CrossSplay?
What I want to say: Nobody (I do not do) has a new content problem. However, one should consider exactly what makes sense and what pure waste of important development time. The F1 series of Codemasters is facing an unstoppable change: new cars, new regulations, new game consoles... potential is currently there any lot, but also countless stilsticks, which are likely to make the way to fame more difficult.
I do not want to sound too negative: maybe I will actually be taught a better, I would really be happy about it! Likewise, there are also positive messages within the leaks, which should be mentioned. Thus, the alleged crosplay support, from which Tom Henderson speaks in his article, is a hot-stretched dream of the community. Finally with PCG colleagues Michi can start a two-player career sounds great - despite different console preference. Likewise, there should be no deductions in the new F1 2022. Although it will not be a comeback of the ambitious racing history "Braking Point" for the time being (probably only with F1 2023), but the different modes, like the career, should also be in F1 2022 Go normal to the start. PC, PlayStation and Xbox united? Due to the EA acquisition, the chances are actually pretty good that F1 fans finally get the CrossSplay function! Whether you have different gaming platforms, together (or against each other) to fight the title would be a great feature for F1 2022! Source: PC Games These are all things I wish from F1 2022 what I do not want is an oriented further development of the fantastic F1 2021, which offers a lot of new things on the paper, with the real royal class but only little at the hat has and hidden this circumstance behind luxury and glamor.
Yes, everything is currently rumored and you should wait for actual information from Codemasters. The Leaks of Tom Henderson have quite often hand and foot. It can be firmly assumed that there will be first official material in the next few weeks. But if I see a Rolex in the first trailer as well as F1 cars remembering me rather the past of the royal class than on their future, then I just do not feel like it.
