New World did not kill other MMO games ...
Amazon.com Games (previously Amazon.com Game Studios) is an American computer game firm as well as department of the on the internet retailing business Amazon that focuses on publishing computer game created within the firm s development divisions.
As it was almost a week since the premiere of New World, it s time to look at this event with a slightly wider perspective.
Is New World - as the largest prime minister minister MMORPG ~~ last years ~~ last decades - she weakened or in any way influenced other MMO games (from steam)?
Only a little. Of course, some games lost a lot of active players (eg Bless Unleashed), but the rest of the major titles did not feel the great success of the Work of Amazon Games Studios. If there were some declines are really minimal, which do not necessarily mean that it was NW.
We compared the number of players before September 28 to what was happening in the last week and in the last weekend. In bracket, you will see the number that has decreased or increased the percentage of players in these titles.
Via steamcharts.com
Final Fantasy XIV (-6%) Bless Unleashed (-30%) Elder Scrolls Online (+20%) black desert (-7%)
Albion Online (-3%)
star wars the old republic (-9%)
ARK: Survival Evolved (+1%)
RUST (-8%)
WARFRAME (+5%)
So you can risk the statement that ESO players, Black Desert players, FFXIV players, Albion players or Rusta players have not succumbed to the ubiquitous Hype and did not abandon their games for New World.
So these 900k (from yesterday s record) must come from other sources. That would agree in total, because reading the game chat can see that New World is for many people the first MMO in life.
Update: Of course, all these calculations have to be taken in quotes . We do not have data from WOW, we do not have data from normal launchers, we can not compare individual games in relation to one to one (F2P to B2P, P2P to B2P, etc.).
