Rustler: Silly Middle Ages
Rustler from Jutsu Games, like many other titles, also puts on the classic game mechanics of early GTA parts, but combines them with the absurd and often black humor of Monty Python. Whether the result from this courageous combination, we could convince us or more invites to foreign dashes, we clarify in our test.

Welcome to the slightly different Middle Ages
With this great rivitable pedestal we can start taxi missions. Source: PC Games The plot of Rustler (Buy Now 29.99 €), which was still titled as Grand Theft Horse at the beginning of the development, plays in a completely coated medieval world. Just as well as everything you can see in Rustler has nothing to do with the actual Middle Ages. The developers have only taken the framework of a GTAS and missed him a medieval look. Streets with traffic lights and zebra strips - so there was not a thing at that time, but in the world of Rustler is nothing extraordinary. Graffiti on walls and beatbox end bards also do not necessarily ensure that the whole thing works more realistic. On the contrary, that game just does not want to take seriously. This is partly funny, but some places we lacked the seriousness.
The real gangster
As usual in most GTA parts, we also start here as a young emerging type. We hatch in the role of Guy and are like a real gangster all day on the crop. In practice, this means: we do orders for twilight figures. We do that to get enough money for a nobility title. Well, not for a real title. We fake a fake to participate in a large tournament. You determine you the question of what we have about it? Well, the price is hot and the winner gets a whole kingdom. If that is not almost too nice to be true ...
Money on Getten
The spear is the perfect gun on horseback. In gallop we make the guards Kebab skewers. Source: PC Games But to let the necessary groschen flow into our bag, we need to take over the dirt work similar to DG in GTA. For example, we with violence ensure that the people of the city go to the fair in the church. For the reward we get a few coins from the bishop on the claw. Not only the, but also some other person like the graves keep tasks ready for us. In the latter, we have to dress up as death and armed with a scythe, strike bandits in fear and terror, so that they no longer attack the people of a village. Absurders will be if we are supposed to kill people in the quest, so that the graves work again. These amooking missions are already known from different GTA parts. At the latest here should be clear who seeks a realistic Middle Ages game must not reach rustler. If you are looking for a GTA 2 clone, you could like Rustler.
I spit in the eyes and aperture you
But let s come to the actual core of the game, the gameplay. This is relatively unspectacular. In addition to riding, we can fight with different weapons like sword, ax, spear or grefe against our adversaries. The fighting are pretty simple and offer little playful depth. Standard combat mechanics such as lighter and heavy blow as well as block, parry and dodge are of course available. In addition, the combat system does not really much more. In addition, it also plays a bit hookly and is not very good about the hand. With arms in normal and automatic design, we can pretty consistently approach other stretches. Riding on the horses is still knitted simpler, but works fine. Unfortunately, it does not really make a mood in the long run, as the driving of an oatmotor offers little variety. Even though there are different fast horses, the great feeling did not come up as we make the streets uncertain in GTA with a sports car. Also not particularly profound is the talent tree. This offers only boring skills that are not really noticeably affecting our character. I can call a horse, great. Who needs such a capability when we can stake a horse anywhere in the world. Often we are in the lower-mentioned. Nevertheless, we are almost unstoppable. Source: PC Games
Knight without Style
A As a greedy death, we should teach Bandits the fear. Source: PC Games Uchex Externally, our character can hardly be redesigned. We always wear the same tormented rags up to a few outfits. Anyone who dreams of a radiant armor is disappointed at this point bitter. The highest of the feelings, is a chain shirt that represents the equivalent to GTAS protective vest. Through the shirt we look a bit chivaller. It s only stupid that it is already after two blows. Also, the weapons we can buy or find are not significant changes for the gameplay. In addition, the open game world does not offer much to offer. Except for a few items on the wayside and the quest markers, there is nothing to discover at all. People do not gradually approach interesting activities or ride lifelessly through the area. It seems that the witch inquirition was also very hardworking, because in Rustler there are as good as no female people on the streets to a few quest-relevant women. This is so much interesting and also important things that characterize the life in the Middle Ages is really a pity, because from this setting would have been much more out. But that s how the world looks lifeless and generic. This is not a contrast error, but a drug trip during a mission Source: PC Games
Unfortunately, only means, age.
In all these points, Rustler has a lot of potential and even the entertaining, Monty Python inspired quests and the funny medieval scenery only ensure small laughs in between, but make the game in the long run but not very entertaining. At the latest with the third witty quest one wonders if the game can even more. Spoiler alarm: Can not. The game with velvet story and characters is not really exciting or captivating. However, if you stand on a short entertaining adventure, then Rustler may be just right for you. All of the more scope from such a game should expect your hands off.
Rustler has left the Early Access on August 31st and is available for PC, Nintendo Switch, as well as for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Mediocre medieval
Rustler tries to be funny on devil. And would not try it all constantly, you would notice how unintentionally and boring Rustler s Middle Ages really is. GTA 2 had at that time with revolutionary gameplay. Rustler copies the mechanics, this something has come to the years titles, but does not realize that exactly what GTA made at the time, not simply bullying one to one in a medieval setting. And so on the one hand missing an exciting and somewhere Middle Ages as well as classic GTA components, which can be exploited by the setting.
